  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 8 slices American cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic until tender.
  4. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder; simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Toss torn hamburger buns with melted butter and sesame seeds.
  6. In a baking dish, layer half of the bun mixture, followed by the beef mixture and special sauce made from mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Top with half of the cheese and add another layer of buns followed by remaining cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool before topping with shredded lettuce, pickles, diced onion, and American cheese slices.
