Ingredients

  • 2 lbs apples (Gala, Fuji, or similar)
  • 10 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 inches fresh ginger
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp black peppercorns

Instructions

  1. Wash and quarter the apples, leaving the skins on for added nutrients.
  2. Combine the chopped apples, sliced ginger, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, black peppercorns, and water in either an Instant Pot or stock pot.
  3. For the Instant Pot: Cook at high pressure for 18 minutes. For stovetop: Bring to a boil then simmer until soft.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher or jar.
  5. Allow the tea to cool completely before serving warm or chilled.
