  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¾ cup cake flour
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1215 strawberries (about 1 cup pureed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a food processor, puree trimmed strawberries until chunky; set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar, then add egg and beat until fluffy.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract, buttermilk, and strawberry puree until combined.
  5. Gently mix in flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  6. Fill a piping bag with the batter and pipe into greased donut tins halfway full.
  7. Bake for about 7-8 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched.
