  • 4 vanilla beans (split and scraped) or 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 star anises (optional)
  • 4 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea or 4 black tea bags (optional)
  • Honey or sweetener of choice

Instructions

  2. Add cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans, cover, and turn off heat. (For ground cinnamon and extract, add directly.)
  3. Let steep for about 10 minutes.
  4. If using black tea, add it now and brew for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  5. Heat milk gently until warm.
  6. Strain the infused mixture into the warm milk.
  7. Sweeten to taste and stir well.
  8. Serve hot or over ice.
